All sizes below 16mm means they have a Proof Lead of 580MPa, minimum Yield Strength of 640 MPa, and minimum Tensile Strength of 800 MPa. On the other hand, those that are more than 16mm above have a Proof Lead of 600MPa, minimum Yield Strength of 660 MPa, and minimum Tensile Strength of 830 MPa.

This bolt can often be identified by the 3 marks on the head.

An A 490 Hexagonal Bolt is highly similar to A 325 Bolt except that it’s made of either medium carbon and alloy steel, weathering steel, and metric A 490. An A 325, on the other hand, can be made from medium carbon, medium carbon steel alloy, carbon boron, and weathering steel. Both A 490 and A325 are no longer used. F3125 replaced it.

An A325 bolt (equivalent to SAE J429) means the bolt has mechanical properties that range from ½ – 1” and 1⅛  – 1 ½”, tensile strength of 120 min and 105 min, and Yield strength of 92 and 81 minutes.

It can be made from medium carbon, medium carbon steel alloy, carbon boron, and weathering steel.
